I’m Ms. Katy Brandl,
I am beyond excited for this year. I am counting down the days to the first day of school. Can anyone else smell the crayons and glue yet?? I look forward to meeting everybody soon!
A little bit about me...
This is my first year at DMCS, and I am very anxious to see what is in store. I am a graduate of the College of Saint Benedict where I majored in elementary education. I LOVE being a Bennie and I still try to stay connected with all of my fellow Bennies and Johnnies. Right now, I am receiving my master’s degree at Bethel University in Special Education, as an Academic Behavioral Strategist, just finalizing my thesis. Leading up to DMCS, I taught 1st grade briefly at St. Odilia School in Shoreview, MN. I was also a kindergarten teaching assistant at Breck School in Golden Valley, MN for two years.
Originally, I spent most of my time growing up in Lakeville with my parents and older brother. I now find myself in Northfield. I am very close with both my mother and father. Two years ago, I was fortunate enough to welcome a sister into the family as my brother married his high school sweetheart. I have a three-year-old Golden Retriever, Gracie Lou, who still seems to keep me up at night. She is my little shadow and we love to go on walks and watch movies. When I am not with my dog or family, I like to run, read, spend time outdoors, and waste time on Pinterest.
Kindergarten is about two things; learning and having fun! We will have a blast this year and make many memories in the process. See you
soon!
